The Village Hall is the main centre for a range of village groups and functions. This Victorian Ham stone building was originally the village school. Following rewiring and general improvements to the heating and lighting in 2006 the hall provides an adaptable building for a wide range of activities. The hall also has a broadband connection and PC with printer and digital projector. With planned improvements to the kitchen in 2008 the hall will be able to host a wider range of functions needing modern catering facilities.
Regular users of the hall include the Gardening and Countryside Club, Parish Council, Village Coffee Mornings and Women’s Institute. There are also a variety of educational and leisure activities which run to meet demand – these have included Book Sales, Computer Courses, Quizzes, Tai Chi and Yoga. Two traditional annual village activities, the Christmas Fair and the Village Show, are particularly popular events in the hall.
The hall is managed by a group of trustees who meet regularly to ensure the hall responds to the needs of users and complies with the statutory requirements for a public building.
